Safety & Trail Use
Safe, Respectful Recreation at Manitoba Outback
Manitoba Outback is a land-based, four-season outdoor destination. Safety and responsible trail use are essential to ensuring a positive experience for all guests and protecting the land, trails, and surrounding communities.
All visitors are expected to review and follow the guidelines outlined on this page.
Trail Designation & Seasonal Use
Trail use at Manitoba Outback follows a seasonal designation model:
When snow is present: Trails are designated for snowmobile use
When there is no snow: Trails are designated for ATV use
Trail designation, access, and availability are determined by weather, snow cover, ground conditions, and safety assessments. Posted signage and staff instructions always take precedence.
Trails may connect to regional routes and, in winter, may provide access to routes connecting with Manitoba’s provincial SNOMAN trail system, subject to conditions.
Wildlife & Environmental Respect
Guests must:
Observe wildlife from a safe distance
Never feed or approach animals
Avoid sensitive areas and wetlands
Pack out all waste
Respect for the land ensures long-term access and safety for everyone.
Guided Activities & Safety Briefings
Participants in guided tours or hosted experiences may be required to:
Attend a safety briefing
Follow guide instructions at all times
Adhere to group travel protocols
Failure to comply may result in removal from the activity.
General Trail Rules
All trail users must:
Follow posted signage and advisories
Travel only on designated trails
Respect seasonal closures or restrictions
Yield appropriately to other trail users
Reduce speed near intersections, facilities, and shared areas
Avoid operating vehicles in unsafe or reckless manners

Recommended equipment includes:
Approved helmets and protective gear

Guests are responsible for:
Ensuring their vehicle is properly registered, insured, and maintained
Holding all required licenses and permits

Guests are expected to respect all closures and advisories. Failure to do so may result in removal from the property.
